Camera Link allows OpenEye users to remotely access the firmware on OpenEye and third-party** cameras directly through the OWS platform. This gives users the ability to configure the camera and update settings without needing to open any ports or change any network security settings. **Supported camera models only.
Macro Support
OpenEye Web Services supports generating macros based on camera analytic events.
Sensor / Relay Support
Use sensors or relays to actively manage your business remotely. With the ability to respond to OWS alerts when monitoring video, OWS makes your surveillance system more actionable.
Networking
By using an outbound trusted connection, OWS enables remote connectivity without the increased risk of port forwarding or punching holes in your firewall.
LAN Smart Forwarding
With OWS LAN Smart Forwarding, the remote clients will communicate to the cloud to see if it should attempt to connect to the local IP of the recorder before trying other methods. Each recorder will also send up its local IP to the OWS cloud to be saved in the database to connect locally in the future.
Proxy Support
OWS supports the use of network proxy services to securely aggregate HTTP communication in corporate environments. OWS requires an HTTP 1.2 compliant proxy and can accommodate null or basic authentication.
Bandwidth Management
Optimize your bandwidth usage based on internet speed and camera counts while not sacrificing video quality.
Recording
OpenEye Web Services delivers a flexible and scalable surveillance solution with multiple recording and storage options.
Recording / Retention
Record video with AI-equipped OWS recorders or OpenEye cloud cameras regardless of connection to the internet or bandwidth, ensuring you have video when you need it most.
Set Max Storage Retention per Recorder
OWS allows you to set the maximum storage retention per recorder.
Set Min Storage Retention per Camera
OWS allows you to set minimum storage retention per camera for both continuous and motion streams to better manage and optimize your storage.
IP Audio Recording **
OpenEye supports IP audio recording for OpenEye and other supported camera manufacturers. **Supported camera models only.

Integrate your third-party, cloud-based identity management with OWS ensuring that the same user access policies and rules are applied consistently across your organization.
Ability to Create Local Users
Following cybersecurity best practices, with OWS all users are based in the cloud to ensure your system is secure while making it easier to manage.
Location and Device Management
Online location management significantly reduces the burden of managing large distributed deployments both for IT and Operations.
Location Groups
Location groups simplify the user management process even further, allowing you to manage alerts, reports and user access for multiple locations, by making changes instantly to all associated accounts.
Health Monitoring
OpenEye Web Service's real-time health monitoring functions keep you abreast of critical issues and potential problems with your video system including pending hard drive failure, changes in recording retention, network outages, and camera failure or tampering.
Automatic Software Updates
Boost efficiency with OWS automated software updates, simplifying management and bolstering security through custom centralized control.
Location Arming
Use the armed state from third-party panels, connected sensors, or OWS virtual arming to reduce false alarms and save your organization time and money. Capabilities dependent on support for virtual arm/disarm, sensor arming and third-party intrusion integrations; see those sections for more details.
Third-party Alarm Panel
Use the armed state of your third-party alarm panel to define alerting logic in OWS. See Ecosystem section for more details.
Sensor Arming
Leverage connected sensors to communicate armed state of a location to OWS to bolster security and improve operational intelligence.
Virtual Arm/Disarm
Reduce false alarms and save your organization time and money by virtually arming or disarming a location through OWS from wherever you are.
